The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has voiced confidence that its presidential candidate, former Vice‑President Atiku Abubakar, will carry Jigawa State in the 2027 general elections, dismissing the All Progressives Congress (APC) pledge to deliver two million votes for incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as unrealistic.

ADC’s candidate for the Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency, Hon. Shehu Sule Udi, reacted to the APC’s declaration that it would secure two million votes for Tinubu’s re‑election. He noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lists 2,807,811 registered voters in Jigawa, a figure that makes the APC’s target appear implausible.

“This clearly shows that the party is just making propaganda,” Udi said.

Udi added that support for Atiku Abubakar and other ADC candidates is growing across the state, calling the two‑million‑vote claim “ridiculous.” He argued that many residents are dissatisfied with the current administration because of the country’s economic hardship.

“People of Jigawa State are tired of this administration. They have suffered enough, and no reasonable person will vote for the APC in the coming election,” he asserted.

Udi concluded that Atiku Abubakar will win Jigawa with “massive votes” and defeat President Tinubu, positioning the ADC as a credible alternative capable of addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges. He also welcomed recent defections from other parties in Ringim and Taura Local Government Areas, describing the newcomers as a boost to the ADC’s political strength ahead of the 2027 polls.
