On Friday night, 25 September 2026, suspected bandits stormed Tsafe town in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, abducting five residents and opening fire on the community.
The incident was first reported by crisis reporter Bakatsine on the social‑media platform X. In a post he wrote, “How did bandits manage to storm a whole town like Tsafe, abduct five people and still get away?” He added that the attackers had entered the town, fired shots and then seized the victims.
Bakatsine also shared photographs that showed bullet‑scarred areas in the town following the attack, offering visual evidence of the violence.
No group has claimed responsibility for the raid, and the Zamfara State Police Command has yet to issue a statement. The whereabouts and fate of the abducted residents remain unknown.
Zamfara is a state in northwest Nigeria that has faced recurrent security challenges, including armed robbery and kidnapping incidents in recent years.
