The Yemeni government has claimed that the Houthi movement fired two missiles at Aden airport. The attack was reported by Al Jazeera, with the missiles said to have struck the airport’s perimeter.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage to the airport infrastructure, according to the government’s statement. The missiles were intercepted by Yemeni air defence units before reaching the runway.
The incident comes amid a broader conflict in Yemen, with the government forces recently announcing advances in the Marib region. They also said they had neutralised 430 Houthi fighters in the last 24 hours.
Aden is Yemen’s second‑largest city and a key port on the Arabian Sea, making it a strategic target in the ongoing civil war.
The Houthi movement, which controls large parts of northern Yemen, has been fighting the internationally recognised government since 2014. The latest missile attack adds to the escalating tensions in the region.
