The Taraba State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) issued a statement on Saturday denying that it has endorsed All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate Danjuma Usman Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS, for the 2027 Taraba State election. The denial follows a social‑media post that purported to announce the association’s support for Shiddi.
The clarification, signed by MACBAN’s Publicity Secretary Jibrin Umar Ala, described the online publication as “false” and asserted that it did not originate from the association nor reflect its position on the upcoming governorship race.
In the statement, MACBAN emphasized that while it continues to engage with relevant stakeholders and government authorities in Taraba in pursuit of peace and development, it has not endorsed any candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
“Endorsement of candidates, if and when necessary, is done only after wide and due consultations with our members across the state, and the same has not taken place,” the association said.
MACBAN added that its members retain the individual right to support and vote for any candidate of their choice, and the group remains focused on the welfare of its members as well as the broader peace and development of Taraba State. It urged the public to disregard the misleading publication that claimed an endorsement of Shiddi.
