Ian Poulter has confirmed that he will leave LIV Golf, joining a growing list of high‑profile players who have announced their departure from the breakaway circuit.
“We certainly aren’t done yet!” Poulter said, indicating that his exit is part of a broader reassessment of his professional plans.
The English golfer, who joined LIV Golf in 2022, made the announcement amid mounting uncertainty over which players will be retained if the league launches a new iteration later this year.
LIV Golf, launched in 2022 as an alternative to the PGA and European Tours, has faced criticism and legal challenges since its inception. Several notable players have already left the league, prompting speculation about its long‑term viability.
With the future roster still unclear, Poulter’s decision underscores the ongoing flux within the organization as it seeks to restructure and possibly re‑brand its competition format.
