Volet parisien des obsèques de Clément Atangana

Clement Atangana died in Paris on Sunday, 4 October 2026, after a long illness treated at the American Hospital. He was 85 years old at the time of his death.

The French capital will host the next stage of his funeral arrangements, with a “levée” ceremony scheduled to take place in Paris. Details of the exact time and venue have not been released.

Atangana’s passing was confirmed by family members who said he had been receiving care at the American Hospital for an extended period before his condition worsened.

The ceremony will bring together relatives and members of the Cameroonian community in Paris, following traditional practices that combine religious rites with cultural tributes.

Cameroon, a Central African nation with a large diaspora in France, typically observes solemn public mourning for prominent figures, and Atangana’s death is expected to be noted by both local and overseas communities.
