US President Donald Trump said at a United Nations meeting that talks with Iran were “very good” and hinted at a possible deal, but warned that the consequences of failing to reach an agreement would be dire.
Trump made the remarks during a UN session in New York, where he reiterated the United States’ willingness to engage with Tehran.
He said the talks were part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the long‑standing tensions between the two countries.
“The talks are very good,” Trump said, adding that “the consequences would be dire if no agreement is reached.”
Iran remains a key player in Middle‑Eastern politics, and the United States and Tehran have had a fraught relationship for decades over nuclear, regional and security issues.
