Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has publicly questioned President Bola Tinubu’s decision to miss the United Nations General Assembly for a third time, demanding answers from the head of state.
Atiku’s remarks come amid growing scrutiny over the Nigerian president’s attendance at the UN’s annual gathering in New York. He has highlighted that this is the third occasion on which Tinubu has been absent from the Assembly.
In response, the Nigerian delegation to the General Assembly is being led by Shettima, who will represent the country in the absence of the president.
The UN General Assembly convenes each year in New York, bringing together heads of state and government from around the world to discuss global issues.
