Troops Rescue 10 Victims, Foil Kidnappings in Zamfara
GUSAU - Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have foiled two separate kidnapping attempts and rescued 10 individuals in different parts of Zamfara State.
The Media Information Officer of JTF North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
Operation Success
According to Lt. Col. Danja, troops of Sector 2, operating in Maru Local Government Area, received information that terrorists had abducted villagers at Kade Daba Village, Kanoma District.
The troops swiftly mobilized to the scene and engaged the terrorists, rescuing three victims.
Danja added that in another operation carried out on the same day, troops conducting a checkpoint patrol along the Tsafe-Funtua Road in Tsafe Local Government Area intercepted a vehicle that had lost control due to sporadic gunfire.
The occupants of the vehicle escaped before the troops arrived, but six victims were rescued from the burning vehicle.
