Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand said he had spoken to Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen about a possible move to the club.
Ferdinand told the 27‑year‑old that if Manchester United called, he should listen to them, saying,
I told him, 'Victor, if Manchester United calls you, you should listen to them.'
Osimhen replied that he could only move if Galatasaray approved, adding,
'Rio, that is a different question. I can't do it unless Galatasaray approves.'
Ferdinand explained that he had urged his former club to sign Osimhen in previous transfer windows, and that his conversation was part of that ongoing effort.
