Manchester United have confirmed the signing of 16‑year‑old English‑Nigerian central midfielder David Eze, who leaves Manchester City to join the Red Devils Academy.
The English Football Association had already signalled that the transfer was finalised after naming United as Eze’s club in its squad announcement for England’s youth teams. Eze spent eight years in Manchester City’s youth set‑up and has represented England’s Young Lions at under‑15 and under‑16 levels.
United announced that the teenager has executed a scholarship agreement and will be permitted to sign his first professional contract in March 2027, when he reaches the age of 17.
In a separate announcement, United confirmed that 17‑year‑old German‑Nigerian forward Noah Ajayi has committed his future to the club by signing a long‑term professional contract. Ajayi, who plays for Germany’s under‑19 side, made his competitive debut in the UEFA Youth League during the current season.
Ajayi was a key contributor to United’s run to last season’s FA Youth Cup final, scoring two goals in five appearances in the tournament.
