Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico drew a packed crowd at a rally held on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, Texas, according to Al Jazeera reporter Emma Withrow.
The event, described as “packed” by the journalist, saw a large number of students and young adults gather to hear the candidate speak, underscoring the campaign’s focus on engaging the university demographic.
Talarico, a Democrat running for the U.S. Senate, used the campus setting to highlight issues that resonate with younger voters, positioning the rally as part of a broader effort to broaden his appeal beyond traditional party bases.
The rally comes amid a Senate race in a state that has long been dominated by Republican candidates, making outreach to new voter groups a strategic priority for the Democratic ticket.
While the enthusiastic turnout at Texas A&M signals strong interest among campus audiences, analysts note that converting that enthusiasm into votes will be a key test for Talarico as the campaign moves forward.
