Utah Jazz forward Jaren Jackson Jr. has been diagnosed with a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee and will miss at least six weeks, while fellow big man Lauri Markkanen is listed as day‑to‑day after spraining his wrist, according to an ESPN report.

Jackson, who has been a key interior presence for the Jazz, suffered the MCL tear during recent team activities. Medical staff estimate a recovery period of six to eight weeks, meaning he will be unavailable for the next several games.

Markkanen, the Finnish forward who also plays a significant role in Utah’s frontcourt, sustained a wrist sprain. The team has not set a definitive timetable for his return, describing his status as day‑to‑day.

The injuries leave the Jazz shorthanded in the frontcourt, reducing the depth of their big men rotation. Coach Will Hardy will need to rely on other forwards and centers to fill the minutes while the two players rehabilitate.

Utah, a Western Conference franchise, will look to adjust its lineup in the coming weeks as it navigates the schedule without two of its primary contributors.
