The Atlanta Falcons have announced that they will sign veteran quarterback Andy Dalton, according to sources that spoke with ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.
In the same move, the team will release quarterback Cooper Rush, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
Dalton, who has played for the Bengals, Texans, and Chiefs, will bring experience to the Falcons’ backfield as they look to strengthen their offensive lineup.
Rush, who has spent the past two seasons with the Falcons, will be free to pursue opportunities with other teams in the league.
Both transactions come as the Falcons prepare for the upcoming NFL season and seek to improve their quarterback depth.
