In a midnight raid on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, a family home in Wuro Kuturu, a community on the Jimeta axis of Yola, was broken into by a son and two accomplices who stole N200,000, two phones and a power bank from the mother and her siblings.
The Adamawa State Police Command said the suspects—Aminu Adamu (20), Adamu Mamman (22) and Nuhu Umar (22)—were all from Wuro‑Kuturu. According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, the trio armed themselves with dangerous weapons before gaining entry to the residence.
Nguroje reported that the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Karewa Area Command on Thursday, September 17, 2026, after the victim lodged a report. The arrests followed a thorough investigation ordered by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime. Items recovered from their possession included a knife, pliers, scissors, various suspected hard drugs and some quantities of Indian hemp.
“The suspects confessed to the crime,” Nguroje said, adding that the state Commissioner had directed a thorough investigation and diligent prosecution of the case.
Adamawa State lies in northeastern Nigeria and is one of the country’s 36 states. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges of securing homes and protecting families from violent crime in the region.
