Lando Norris has called for a race ban on Franco Colapinto after the Argentine’s collision at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix sent both him and Pierre Gasly out of the race.
The incident, which took place during the opening laps of the Baku event, saw Colapinto’s car collide with Gasly’s, leaving the Frenchman unable to continue and forcing the Argentine to retire as well.
“Colapinto should receive a race ban,” Norris said following the collision.
Both drivers were eliminated from the race, a result that has prompted criticism from the British driver and raised questions about on‑track conduct in the current Formula 1 season.
While the FIA has yet to issue a formal statement, the incident is likely to be reviewed as part of the season’s safety and sporting regulations.
