Nigerian military forces have intensified their counter-terrorism operations in the northwest, announcing the arrest of a suspected terrorist collaborator in Kaduna State and the destruction of improvised explosive devices in Zamfara State.
In Kaduna, troops detained an individual identified as a suspected collaborator with terrorist groups. The arrest is part of ongoing security efforts aimed at disrupting the logistical and intelligence networks that support insurgent activities in the region.
Simultaneously, military units operating in Zamfara State located and destroyed three improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The defusing of these devices was conducted to prevent their potential use in attacks against civilians or security personnel.
As part of the same security sweep, the military also recovered 73 livestock that had been previously stolen by armed groups. The recovery of the animals is intended to return the assets to their rightful owners and restore a sense of security in affected communities.
These operations highlight the continued presence of the Nigerian Army in the northwest, a region that has faced significant security challenges from various armed non-state actors in recent years.
