The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has started a repatriation programme for 500 Nigerian citizens who were living in South Africa, according to a statement released by the church.
The first group of 100 repatriated Nigerians arrived in Lagos on Monday, marking the commencement of the 500‑person operation. The church has not yet detailed the exact dates or locations for the remaining batches.
RCCG officials said the initiative is part of a broader effort to assist Nigerians who have been stranded abroad due to travel restrictions and economic difficulties. The repatriation is being coordinated with local authorities in both countries.
While the church has not provided further specifics, it emphasized that the programme will continue until all 500 individuals have safely returned to Nigeria.
