Portugal’s football federation said on Saturday that captain Cristiano Ronaldo will be eligible to re‑join the national team after serving a one‑month suspension, meaning he could be available for selection during the November international break.
The 41‑year‑old forward was suspended after walking out of Portugal’s camp during the UEFA Nations League in September, a breach that the federation confirmed in its statement.
According to the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), the disciplinary measure will last roughly one month, which aligns with the timing of the upcoming November window of international fixtures.
“The Federation, the coach, all the teammates are aligned: we want Cristiano back. I expect him back already during the November international break,” FPF president Pedro Proença said.
“Cristiano is also willing to return. He’s the best of all time.”
Ronaldo, who currently plays for Saudi club Al Nassr, has captained Portugal for several years and remains a central figure in the squad despite his age.
