On Thursday 17 September 2026, senior officials of Cameroon’s ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (RDPC) visited the Yaoundé residence of Health Minister Dr Manaouda Malachie to present their condolences after the minister’s mother passed away.
The delegation was headed by Jean Kueté, Secretary‑General of the RDPC Central Committee, and included a number of other high‑ranking party dignitaries. Their visit was later recounted by Jacques Fame Ndongo in an official communication.
“I took part today, alongside the Secretary‑General of the Central Committee of the RDPC and the important delegation that accompanied him, in a comforting visit to the family of comrade Dr Manaouda Malachie, Minister of Public Health, struck by the death of his mother on Friday 11 September 2026 in Mokolo. During this moment of solace, the delegation also conveyed the condolences of the National President, His Excellency Paul Biya, and thereafter honored the memory of the illustrious matriarch,”
Manaouda Malachie’s mother, Maman Tchemne Marie, died at the age of 96 on 11 September 2026 in the northern town of Mokolo. Her body was released from the morgue of the Central Hospital of Mokolo on Sunday 13 September and she was laid to rest on Monday 14 September 2026.
The RDPC delegation’s expression of sympathy reflects the party’s customary practice of offering personal support to officials during family bereavements, underscoring the close ties between the ruling party and the government headed by President Paul Biya.
