The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 50‑year‑old prophet, Nicholas Nusa, on charges of abducting five girls from the Akoko‑Edo Local Government Area between September 2025 and April 2026.
Nusa, who serves as the overseer of Divine Grace Church on Imoga Road in Ibillo, is also accused of impregnating a 15‑year‑old girl who recently underwent a Caesarean section. The girl is receiving medical care at a hospital and is under the care of the Brave Heart Organisation.
Police say the children were taken from the Ibillo and Imoga communities on different occasions and were kept at Nusa’s residence during the period of the alleged abductions.
Command spokesperson Eno Ikoedem confirmed that the arrest followed information received by the police and that the suspect admitted to the offences during questioning. The police are working to locate and reunite the children with their families while investigations continue.
