PDP BoT backs Wike, says 'we are proud of you'
The Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) has expressed its unwavering support for Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, following the death of the party's National Chairman, Dan Orbih.
The BoT Chairman, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, stated that the party's Board of Trustees remains proud of Wike's contributions to the party and his unwavering commitment to the party's ideology.
Ohuabunwa, who led the delegation that visited Wike at his Abuja residence to condole with him over Orbih's death, said that the PDP's position on the 2027 presidential election remains unchanged.
“We are proud of you, Governor Wike,” Ohuabunwa said. “The PDP is proud of you, and we are proud of what you have done for the party.”
Wike, who has been a member of the PDP since 2015, has been a strong supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid in 2023, and has been supporting President Buhari for re-election in 2027 as well.
“We are with you, Governor Wike,” Ohuabunwa said.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been facing internal challenges, but Ohuabunwa assured that the party will remain united and strong despite the challenges.
