On 10 September 2026, the International Conference Centre in Enugu hosted the Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026, a large‑scale event themed “Beyond Quotas: Unlocking Opportunities for Enugu Youths through the Federal Character Commission.” The programme was organised by Federal Commissioner Peter Ogbonna Eze, who represents Enugu State on the Federal Character Commission.
By 7 a.m., the main bowl of the ICC was already full, with over 5,000 youths and their parents filling the 5,000‑seat venue. Registration lines ran along the entrance and the hall was decorated with flyers and banners that highlighted the event’s focus on youth empowerment and job creation.
The event opened at 11:15 a.m. with a standing ovation for Commissioner Eze, who was accompanied by Executive Chairman Hon. Mrs. Ayo Omidiran and other Commission members. The Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, spoke on behalf of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, praising the Commission’s role in providing a platform for youth education and empowerment and noting the administration’s economic gains.

Executive Chairman Omidiran explained the constitutional duties of the Federal Character Commission and outlined steps for job seekers to improve their chances of employment. She praised Eze as a vibrant, enterprising youth and encouraged attendees to remain prepared for opportunities.
Keynote speakers added further guidance. Senator Emmanuel Onwe stressed the importance of readiness and knowledge, citing Eze as a model of preparedness meeting opportunity. Agribusiness specialist Ronald Oroh highlighted prospects in agribusiness and urged youths to register for training programmes. A team from DELYORK (IDICE) and representatives from Jobberman presented resources for technology, agriculture, and skills acquisition, offering a website for registration and empowerment initiatives.
The day concluded with a collective emphasis on the need for continuous learning and proactive engagement in available opportunities, reinforcing the theme that unlocking potential requires both readiness and access to the right platforms.
