The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced that applicants for recruitment into four agencies under the Nigerian Ministry of Interior are exempt from paying for the mandatory Drug Integrity Test (DIT). The agency confirmed that the Ministry of Interior has completed bulk payments to cover the testing costs for all new recruits, ensuring that candidates will not incur any financial burden for the exercise.

The directive applies to personnel and candidates joining the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi disclosed the arrangement in a statement, emphasizing that the bulk payment was made to facilitate a seamless and orderly testing process for the incoming staff.

Babafemi advised all candidates and participating personnel to refrain from making any payments to NDLEA officials, testing centers, or through any other payment channels. He warned that any request for payment in connection with the Drug Integrity Test is unauthorized, as the agency has concluded all necessary financial arrangements with the Ministry of Interior.

According to the statement, the testing process will be conducted digitally to enhance efficiency and transparency. Candidates will be required to access the NDLEA Drug Integrity Test portal via a designated link or access point, which will be provided on their respective institutional portals. This digital approach allows applicants to complete necessary registration and documentation before proceeding with the test without additional fees.

The NDLEA expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of the Ministry of Interior in facilitating this arrangement. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and efficient implementation of the drug testing exercise for all recruits across the four specified agencies.
