The Argentine’s 24th‑minute strike was his 75th career free‑kick goal and helped the club finish the match in a 2‑2 draw.
With the goal, Messi became the fastest and youngest player to reach 930 goals in professional football, doing so in 1,176 matches at the age of 39 years and 88 days.
Ronaldo had previously set the benchmark at 40 years and 58 days after 1,272 matches. Messi’s achievement now places him ahead of the former record holder.
