Chloe Dang has urged the Australian federal government to intervene in the search for her husband, Tran Hiep, a 50-year-old Vietnamese Australian human rights activist who has been missing in Cambodia since 18 September.
Tran Hiep, an anti-human trafficking campaigner, was scheduled to return to Bangkok, Thailand, to reunite with his wife following a short visit to Phnom Penh. During his time in Cambodia, he was engaged in meetings with local human rights defenders.
The activist has not been heard from since the 18th of September, prompting his wife to publicly implore the Albanese government for assistance in locating him and facilitating his return home.
Tran Hiep is described as a democracy campaigner who has dedicated his efforts to combating human trafficking and advocating for human rights in the region.
