Maurice Kamto: Former Professor Praises Legal Skills of Cameroon's Opposition Leader
Cameroonian lawyer and opposition leader, Maurice Kamto, has received a commendation for his legal expertise from a former professor, Jean Calvin Ba'a Oyono.
Jean Calvin Ba'a Oyono, a professor of public law at the University of Buea, praised Kamto during an interview on Canal 2's L'Arène programme.
Speaking about Kamto's legal abilities, Oyono said, "Maurice Kamto, this is not your average lawyer. In public law, he is a master. His political views may differ, but as a lawyer, he is exceptional."
Oyono's past political allegiance has led to his arrest and detention for 42 days at the Yaoundé Central Police Station. His arrest was in relation to post-election matters.
Kamto, a key figure in Cameroon's opposition movement, has faced numerous challenges since the disputed presidential election in 2018. His arrest and detention have been a recurring issue.
