French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Riyadh for a surprise visit to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The meeting, held at the Saudi capital, focused on a range of issues including energy cooperation, regional security and infrastructure development.
During the talks, Macron and the Crown Prince discussed ways to secure additional diesel supplies for France, a move that comes as European nations seek to diversify their energy sources amid ongoing market volatility.
Both leaders also addressed broader security concerns in the region, with an emphasis on maintaining stability in the Gulf and ensuring the safe transport of energy resources.
Infrastructure projects were another key topic, with the two sides exploring joint ventures that could enhance connectivity between Europe and the Middle East.
While the details of the agreements remain confidential, the visit underscores France’s continued engagement with Saudi Arabia on energy and security matters.
