Cameroon’s under‑15 national team, known as the Lions, continue their promising run at the 2026 World Cup in Azerbaijan after finishing top of Group K ahead of Senegal. The side now turns its attention to a decisive clash with Morocco, a match that follows a strong statement from midfielder Franck Cédric Onana Owono.
The group‑stage campaign saw the Lions emerge as leaders of Group K, securing the highest position and leaving Senegal in second place. Their performance placed them among the tournament’s early favourites and set up the upcoming encounter with the Moroccan side.
Onana Owono, a key figure in the squad, addressed the media before the Morocco game, delivering a forceful message aimed at rallying his teammates. While the exact wording was not disclosed, his remarks emphasized the importance of unity and determination as the Lions prepare for the next round.
The forthcoming match against Morocco will determine whether Cameroon can maintain its momentum and advance further in the competition. Both teams have shown strong youth talent, and the encounter is expected to be tightly contested.
The U15 World Cup provides a valuable platform for emerging African talent, and Cameroon’s early success highlights the nation’s continued investment in youth development. A win over Morocco would extend the Lions’ “beautiful adventure” and keep their hopes alive for a deep tournament run.
