The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, has publicly rebuked Defence Minister Christopher Musa over the minister’s assertion that security agencies will remain neutral in the 2027 elections.

Musa, who met President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, told journalists that the security situation would be briefed to the president and that the army, police and other agencies would “ensure voters are not intimidated” during the upcoming polls.

In a post on X, Sowore called the minister a “loudmouth” and accused him of “failing in his duties as a serving General” while accusing him of being a partisan “hack for Tinubu.” He urged the minister to “leave 2027 alone and face insecurity.”

“This retired loudmouth, Christopher Musa, who failed in his duties as a serving General in the Nigerian Army is now here promising free and fair elections in 2027, when he is, in fact, a partisan hack for Tinubu. He should leave 2027 alone and face insecurity,” Sowore wrote.

Musa’s comments came after he was accompanied by heads of security agencies to brief the president on the security situation ahead of the elections. He said Tinubu wants the 2027 polls to be free, fair and credible, and that security agencies will ensure voters are not intimidated.
