The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) cleared a large truck that had blocked roughly 80 per cent of a road in the National‑Ashade area of Lagos after it tipped over at 11:21 pm on Sunday.
The incident involved a MACK truck carrying two 20‑foot containers. While attempting a U‑turn, the vehicle broke down and the containers tilted, blocking a major portion of the roadway and causing traffic congestion.
According to a statement released by LASEMA on Monday, emergency crews worked to remove the overturned containers and restore traffic flow. The agency said the obstruction was cleared promptly, though it did not provide further details on any injuries or damage.
National‑Ashade is a busy commercial district in Lagos, and the blockage was expected to have disrupted local traffic for several hours before the clearance was completed.
“The incident was handled swiftly by LASEMA’s emergency response teams, who removed the containers and cleared the road,” the agency said. “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to commuters.”
