The company said it had been alerted by federal intelligence authorities that a threat actor may attempt to target some Kiteworks systems. In response, Kiteworks is taking a precautionary shutdown to protect its customers’ data and infrastructure.
“Kiteworks received credible threat intelligence from federal intelligence authorities indicating that a threat actor may attempt to target some Kiteworks systems,” said Frank Balonis, Chief.
Customers are advised to follow the company’s instructions and to monitor communications for further updates. The temporary shutdown is intended to mitigate the risk of exploitation during the identified threat window.
