Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris announced that his administration has fully settled all outstanding salaries, pensions and gratuities owed to civil servants and retirees in the state.
Idris said the government is “up‑to‑date” with these payments, indicating that there are no arrears pending for any workers or former employees of the state.
Kebbi, located in north‑western Nigeria, like many other states has periodically faced public concern over delayed remuneration for public sector staff. The governor’s statement aims to reassure workers that their compensation is being honoured promptly.
The declaration was made in response to circulating reports that suggested the state might be behind on its payroll obligations. Idris refuted those claims, emphasizing that the administration has met its financial commitments to both current employees and pensioners.
According to the governor’s office, the state will continue to monitor its fiscal responsibilities to ensure that salaries, pensions and gratuities remain current, thereby maintaining stability for its workforce.
