The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) will honour actress Julianne Moore with its Icon Award at the upcoming SCAD Savannah Film Festival. The festival will feature Moore’s film The Dead Donkey as the Centrepiece selection.
In addition to the award ceremony, the festival will open with Bleecker Street’s film A Talent for…, signalling a strong slate of contemporary cinema for the event.
The Icon Award recognises a body of work that has had a lasting impact on the film industry. Moore’s career, which spans more than three decades, has earned her critical acclaim and a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most respected performers.
The Dead Donkey is a musical comedy written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg and distributed by A24. The film’s inclusion as the Centrepiece underscores SCAD’s commitment to showcasing innovative and genre‑blending cinema.
SCAD, a leading institution for art and design education, has long been a host for film festivals that celebrate both emerging talent and established figures in the industry. The 2024 SCAD Savannah Film Festival promises a blend of award‑winning performances and fresh cinematic voices.
