Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, told Al Jazeera that the United States’ recent outreach was a “positive step” as a US delegation visits Qatar for talks.
Araghchi said Tehran does not rule out the possibility of an attack and is prepared for all scenarios, underscoring the country’s readiness to respond to any threat.
“We do not rule out an attack,” Araghchi said. “We are prepared for all scenarios.”
The FM’s comments come as the US delegation arrives in Qatar for a series of meetings aimed at easing tensions between the two powers.
Iran has long been at odds with the United States over a range of security and diplomatic issues, and the FM’s remarks reflect the country’s cautious stance amid ongoing regional uncertainties.
