Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget announced that it has suffered a cyber‑attack in which $351.6 million was stolen from its hot and warm wallets. The company said the theft was carried out by suspected North Korean hackers.

Bitget disclosed the incident on Thursday, noting that the attackers accessed the exchange’s hot wallet, which holds funds for immediate trading, and its warm wallet, which stores a portion of assets for security purposes. The total loss amounts to $351.6 million in cryptocurrency.

Bitget is a global crypto trading platform that offers spot, futures and margin trading. The company has not yet released details on how the breach occurred or which cryptocurrencies were taken.

North Korea has been linked to a number of cyber‑crime operations targeting financial institutions and cryptocurrency exchanges. While the exchange has not confirmed the attackers’ identity, it has identified the group as likely North Korean.

Bitget has urged its users to remain vigilant and has said it is working with law‑enforcement agencies to investigate the theft and recover the stolen funds. The exchange has not yet announced any changes to its security protocols.
