Unidentified gunmen killed four people and injured two others in the early hours of Wednesday, September 23, in the Niger State communities of Godoro and Angwan-Bisala. The attacks occurred in the Katako District within the Rafi Local Government Area, according to official police statements.
SP Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, confirmed the fatalities to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He reported that the armed men struck the two communities at approximately 1:30 am, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and serious injuries to two others.
Abiodun stated that the two injured victims were immediately transported to a hospital for medical treatment following the incident. The police command has since visited the scene of the attacks to assess the situation.
