Yaoundé, 17 September 2026 – Rose Mbah Acha, the minister delegate to the Presidency responsible for the Supreme State Control, has issued an urgent summons for nine incumbent mayors and one former mayor to appear before the Supreme Council of the State (CONSUPE) on a matter deemed “particularly sensitive” concerning their management of public finances.
Details of the summons
The official communiqué, signed by Mbah Acha in her capacity as president of the Budgetary and Financial Disciplinary Council (CDBF), orders the officials to present themselves without delay at Building B, second floor, door B 203 of the CONSUPE headquarters in Yaoundé.
The mayors and former mayor named by the permanent secretariat of the CDBF are:

- M. Eto Romain Roland (Nanga Eboko)
- M. Akono Alinga André Rémi (Awae)

- M. Manfo Songong Jean René (Penja)
- M. Njoya Inoussa (Foumbot)
- M. Manfred Njecacal (Dibamba)
Mandate of CONSUPE and CDBF
CONSUPE, an oversight body placed directly under the authority of the Presidency of the Republic, is tasked with ensuring the proper execution of public budgets and promoting good governance within Cameroon’s decentralized local authorities. Through the CDBF, it possesses the legal levers to sanction financial mismanagement and other irregularities.
The forthcoming hearings are expected to determine the administrative and political consequences for the summoned officials, underscoring the government’s emphasis on transparency, accountability, and the moralisation of public finance at the local level.
