Four Dead in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Crash
A fatal road accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Straight Gate School in Ipara Remo, Ogun State, early Wednesday morning.
The accident involved a blue Mitsubishi Canter and an ash-colored HOWO truck, with eight individuals involved. Four male adults lost their lives, while one male adult sustained injuries and three others escaped unscathed.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported the incident at 4:00 a.m. and arrived at the scene at 4:09 a.m., achieving a six-minute response time.
The injured person was taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, for treatment, while the remains of the deceased were deposited at the Funeral Home, Ipara.
Crash Factors: Speeding, Fatigue, and Unsafe Overtaking
Corps Commander Afolabi Odunsi, the Ogun State Sector Commander, urged motorists to avoid speeding, driving while fatigued, and undertaking dangerous maneuvers during early mornings and long-distance trips.
