Sahara Group Foundation has opened its 23rd recycling hub in the Ikeja area of Lagos, marking a new milestone in the organisation’s efforts to improve waste management across the city.

The new facility, located in the commercial district of Ikeja, is part of the foundation’s expanding network of recycling centres that aim to collect and process waste more efficiently, reducing landfill usage and encouraging a circular economy.

By adding another hub, the foundation hopes to increase the volume of recyclable materials recovered from Lagos’s growing population, while also providing training and employment opportunities for local residents.

“Creating livelihood opportunities is a key part of our strategy,” said a spokesperson for Sahara Group Foundation. “The new hub will not only support sustainable waste management but also generate income for people who can work in sorting, processing and marketing recycled products.”

With 23 recycling hubs now operating, Sahara Group Foundation continues to expand its reach across Nigeria, reinforcing the city’s commitment to environmental stewardship and economic development.
