Former Kogi State governor Ibrahim Idris died at the age of 77 on Sunday in the United Kingdom, his family said.
Idris, who served as governor of the central Nigerian state from 2015 to 2019, had been living abroad for several years.
His death was confirmed by family members who said he passed away in the UK, though no further details were released.
Kogi State, located in Nigeria’s middle belt, has been a focal point of political activity in recent years.
