Australian security agencies are investigating the period a flydubai co‑pilot spent in the country before he allegedly tried to hijack a flight bound for Tel Aviv.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when passengers and crew stopped the co‑pilot from taking control of a flydubai aircraft carrying 182 people. The plane dropped 16,625 feet (5,067 metres) in just over 30 seconds before stabilising, narrowly averting disaster.
Police confirmed that the investigation focuses on the co‑pilot’s two‑year stay in Australia
