Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payments technology company, has announced its executive engagements on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81), positioning its payment, banking, and stablecoin capabilities as essential infrastructure for accelerating the continent’s economic growth. The company’s presence aligns with the broader UNGA theme of restoring trust and managing transformation, marking a strategic moment as the firm celebrates its tenth anniversary and evolves into a comprehensive financial operating system for Africa.

At the center of its UNGA 81 activities is an invitation-only executive forum titled “Africa Forward: Investing in the Next Decade of Growth,” scheduled for September 23, 2026. This high-level dialogue is designed to convene senior decision-makers from both public and private sectors to address the critical financial rails required to drive cross-border trade, improve global money movement, and unlock institutional capital.

The forum will bring together influential global leaders, including state governors, ministers, and executive representatives from major organizations such as JPMorgan, Citi, Visa, Google, Microsoft, Chevron, Standard Bank Group, the Africa Finance Corporation, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The gathering aims to foster high-level discussions on the modern financial infrastructure necessary to support African enterprises as they scale across international borders.

Flutterwave Founder and CEO, Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, will lead the company’s executive delegation to the forum. He will be joined by a senior team including Chief Legal, Regulatory Affairs & Public Policy Officer Oluwabankole Falade; Managing Director of Flutterwave Services Limited Risikatu Ahmed; Head of Strategy & Planning Bridgit Antwi; and SVP for Public Sector Olufunmilayo Olaniyi. Other delegation members include Bolanle Baruwa, Head of SME Business; Juliet Aluziwe, Head of Internal Audit; and Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, Head of Marketing.

“That is why Flutterwave is building a multi-rail payments platform that brings together fiat payments, bank transfers, cards, mobile money, stablecoins, and blockchain networks into one seamless experience,” said Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, the founder and CEO, in an article on the company’s website.

This engagement builds on Flutterwave’s established track record of championing Africa’s tech ecosystem through executive participation at global platforms, including the World Bank/IMF Meetings, the World Economic Forum, and previous UNGA sessions. By unifying digital payments, expanding banking capabilities, and integrating compliant stablecoin solutions, the company aims to remove friction from global trade and ensure African businesses can operate seamlessly within the international economy.
