Flood Claims Another Life in Abia as Female Student Drowns
A 12-year-old girl, Miss Sopuruchi Ibe, from Ndia Chukpai Compound, Mgbaga, Ebem Ohafia, Abia State, has been confirmed dead after drowning in a flooding incident in the community.
The unfortunate incident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. along Eni Njoku Road, Ebem Ohafia, on Friday evening due to heavy rainfall.
Unfortunately, her body was discovered this morning, but unfortunately, she did not survive.
Speaking on the sad incident, the Publicity Secretary of Ebem Ohafia Development Union (EODU), Ifeanyi Okali, expressed his condolences to Sopuruchi's parents, family, friends, classmates, and the entire Ebem Ohafia community during this painful time.
It is worth recalling that a 37-year-old trader, identified only as Mr. Ejiuwa, lost his life in a flooding incident in Ugwueke community, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, while returning from the market.
In recent flooding events, two lives have been lost in Abia State, Nigeria.
