Gunmen ambushed a mining site in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing at least five miners and injuring two others, police officials said.
The attack, which took place at an unlicensed mining operation, was described as a sudden assault by armed men who opened fire on the workers. Five men were reported dead on the scene, while two others were taken to a nearby health facility with non‑fatal injuries.
