Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho said he would “rather have a bit of a laugh” about Manchester City’s recent guilty verdict for breaching Premier League financial rules, according to a statement made to Cor Sport.
Mourinho, who was denied a title by City after finishing second to their city rivals in the 2017/2018 season, added that the matter is unlikely to be resolved any time soon.
“I’d rather have a bit of a laugh about it,” Mourinho said. “Being in my 60s, I’ll have to be lucky enough still to be here when the final verdict arrives. Now a ruling will come, then an appeal… I’ll be 80!”
City have denied any wrongdoing and have already submitted an appeal against the ruling.
