Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has declined to confirm whether he will sign a new contract with the club during the current international break, stating that the timing remains uncertain. The Spanish coach is currently in the final year of his existing deal with the Premier League side.
Arteta’s current situation mirrors the circumstances surrounding his previous contract renewal in 2024. At that time, he was also in the final year of his agreement and signed a new deal during the September international window. Despite the parallel, Arteta indicated that the schedule for the next renewal is not yet set.
Addressing questions about the status of his future, Arteta emphasized that there is no cause for concern regarding his position at the club. He stated, "We are all very much aligned. Whenever the time is right, we will get that done. There is nothing to be concerned about."
The manager further clarified that the specific timing of the new agreement may differ from the previous cycle. "I don’t know if the timing will be the same or different [as his last contract, when he signed it in the September break]," Arteta said, noting that the decision will be made when the conditions are appropriate for both parties.
Arteta concluded by highlighting the shared goals between himself and the club's leadership. "We all have the same ambition, so when the time is right we will get that resolved," he added, suggesting that mutual objectives are driving the ongoing discussions.
