The former chief of staff to Kaduna State Governor Nasir El‑Rufai has announced that he has joined the All‑Progressive Congress (APC), bringing with him an estimated 10,000 supporters.
In a statement released by the ex‑official, he said he had left the All‑Nigeria Peoples Party (ADC) and would now work to bring the APC into key localities in the state.
He specifically vowed to deliver Zaria, Lere and other areas to the APC, saying that the party would benefit from the support of the large group of followers he is bringing along.
The move comes at a time when Kaduna State is a key political battleground in northern Nigeria, with parties keen to consolidate their influence ahead of the next election cycle.
