The Kaduna State Government has activated its infectious disease hospital and stepped up surveillance measures to prevent and respond to a potential Ebola outbreak.

In a move aimed at safeguarding public health, officials said the state’s isolation centre will be ready to receive any suspected cases and to carry out testing and treatment protocols in line with national guidelines.

While no confirmed cases of Ebola have been reported in the region, authorities are taking precautionary action in light of recent outbreaks elsewhere in West Africa.

Health officials will monitor the situation closely and coordinate with federal agencies to ensure a rapid response if the virus is detected.
