On Thursday 24 September 2026, Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute visited the construction site at Missolè 1 in Dibamba, signalling a new chapter in Cameroon’s industrial and port development agenda.
The site forms part of the Zone de développement des activités portuaires industrielles (ZADAPI), a government‑backed project aimed at expanding the country’s maritime infrastructure and creating a hub for industrial activity along the coast.
During the visit, Ngute inspected the progress of the works, which include the building of berths, storage facilities and related logistics infrastructure intended to boost the capacity of Cameroon’s ports.
Officials highlighted that the development is expected to enhance the nation’s ability to handle growing cargo volumes, support export‑oriented industries and generate employment opportunities in the region.
Cameroon, a Central African nation with a coastline on the Gulf of Guinea, has prioritized port expansion as a key element of its broader strategy to diversify the economy and strengthen trade links with regional and global markets.
